UMD planning and assessment processes promote effective design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement toward the achievement of various academic goals.
UMD Enrollment Management (EM) is committed to creating a culture of engaged partnerships system-wide that enhance the experiences of prospective and currently enrolled students, support student development and engagement, and lead to timely graduation.
Assessment of Student Learning
UMD's system for student learning assessment involves data collection and analysis of educational experiences to improve student learning within undergraduate and graduate curricular programs, co-curricular programs, and the Liberal Education Program.
Program Development
Academic program development is strategic, integrative and ongoing, involving planning, implementation, and evaluation/monitoring. UMD users can access the planning tools and resources available online.
UMD's academic degree and non-degree program review procedures utilize self- and external peer-evaluation for continuous program improvement to promote excellence and to facilitate planning and development.
Space Management
Space is a substantial asset and must be managed effectively to meet UMD’s mission. The Academic Space office is responsible for accurate coding of campus space usage and oversees space assignments within the division of Academic Affairs.
Office of Institutional Research
OIR provides institutional information to support decision-making, planning, and assessment at a variety of organizational levels and to fulfill reporting requirements for external audiences.
