Program Array Evaluation
In November 2024, Interim EVCAA Ropers established the Academic Revisioning Committee (ARC) and tasked them with developing a process to inform academic program decisions in coming years: ARC Charge Memo.
ARC Membership:
- Department head from each college: Afton Clarke-Sather (CAHSS), Jessica Hanson (CEHSP), Neil Wilmot (LSBE), Katie Schreiner (SCSE)
- Faculty Senate representatives: Rebecca Katz Harwood, Jared Strasburg
- Associate Vice Chancellors, Academic Affairs: Erik Brown, Jennifer Mencl
The ARC was given an additional directive in January; to recommend guiding principles for the UMD Budget 3 - Chancellor Nies, Interim EVCAA Ropers, and VCFO Massman - to consider in developing our campus’s FY26 Compact submission to the University System. The Budget 3 intends to use the guiding principles to help inform their evaluations of the program scope reductions and related reallocations put forward by each dean in their college Budget Call response. The program scope reductions are a required exercise for all academic resource responsibility centers (RRCs) across the System.
